EVO Mission Statement: The Edgewood Volunteer Organization (EVO) is made up of parent VOLUNTEERS who donate their time and talents to making this school the best it can be for our students. The EVO hosts a variety of school events, some of which are fundraising opportunities as well as enrichment programs for our students and Edgewood Families.
All profits made during an EVO event are returned into the EVO budget to be used for future programs. We are very fortunate to have many wonderful EVO volunteers who generoulsy give of their time, energy and ideas. Their involvement allows the EVO to enhance each and every student's experience at the Edgewood Elementary School. Remember the rewards in helping your child succeed and have fun are twofold, we make new friends and you gain memories that will last a lifeteime.
EVO Goals
- Improve communication between home and school.
- Assist with school sponsored events and activities.
- Sponsor age appropriate, supervised, student social activities and events, where all students are treated with value and respect, not only by EVO volunteers, but also by fellow students. These events should in most cases, be accessible to the entire Edgewood student population.
- Provide equally distributed volunteer opportunities to Edgewood parents.
- Whenever possible, remove obstacles for volunteer participation and attending EVO meetings.
- Initiate and implement ideas and plans to beautify the school buildings and grounds.
- Raise funds for those items not otherwise provided for in the school budget.
- Work together to create a pleasant meeting atmosphere.
- Welcome new members and ideas.
- Be respectful of different opinions
- Resist blame, gossip and criticism.
- Never forget our common purpose- The Children.
